The Finance Council is a consultative body which meets with the Pastor on a monthly basis to review and oversee the financial condition of the parish. Members serve at the invitation of the Pastor and are selected because of their strong business or financial background. Members assist other committees in the preparation of their budgets, review requests for fund-raisers, and oversee insurance and legal issues such as contracts.

Church Renovation Updates
Please see the attached Budget Report listing the costs of the Church renovation as of July 8, 2015.
The actual cost of the renovations to date has been approximately $1.964M. While the majority of the renovation work has been completed, we have learned that the available space will accommodate more pews at a cost of approximately $25,000. That additional work will be done and the Budget Report will be updated after the corresponding costs are incurred.
As you have read in the bulletin (June 7th, 21st), the City of Dana Point is requiring us to make substantial upgrades to ensure that our facilities are code compliant. These upgrades will be completed in two phases. The first phase, which will cost roughly $250k, is complete (these costs are not reflected in the attached Budget Report as they are separate from the renovation). It includes restroom upgrades, two van accessible parking spots, truncated domes in front of the church, slope and grade corrections in the arched walkway, filling in the planter around the sculpture in front of the church, and replacing the railing in the choir loft. The second phase will be completed within the next three years. However, at this time, the necessary scope (and therefore the cost) of the second phase is uncertain. Accordingly, further updates will be provided once there is more clarity.
